FIRST AID ROOM

posted Mar 31, 2017, 8:11 AM by Hiromi Takahashi

As a part of our school’s function, we are operating the “First Aid Room”, providing only ‘first aid’ care. Its function is not the same with the first aid room in schools where school nurses are on duty at all times. Our “First Aid Room” is overseen by a school office staff reporting to the principal and the School Steering Committee. The school staff is assisted by the PTA First Aid Committee members and Classroom Toban every Saturday. Please read the attached information to know more about our first aid.

WHAT WE DO AT THE FIRST AID ROOM

If a student gets injured, or his/her condition deteriorates while at school, the following steps will be taken:

1. Send the student to the First Aid Room. The student is checked for the temperature and is provided first aid only. The First Aid Room provides a temporary shelter for sick children until his/her parent/guardian’s arrival for the pick-up. No medical treatment is provided at the First Aid Room.

2. Contact the parent/guardian, according to the information submitted to the school office. It will become the responsibility of the parent/guardian once the student is released to his/her parent/guardian.

3. In case the symptom of infectious diseases is seen, “Return Home Advisory” is applied.

REQUEST FOR OUR PARENTS/GUARDIANS

1.    Please add the school phone number to your contact list on your mobile phone. The telephone number at the JLS office at MHS on school days is 781-395-9602.

2.    Please make sure your voicemail is set up. We need to be able to leave messages in case of medical emergency.
