NOTICE FROM THE JAPANESE LIBRARY

posted Sep 14, 2018, 6:45 AM by Hiromi Takahashi   [ updated Sep 21, 2018, 7:27 AM ]
Our new system is up and running! It may take some time until we all get used to the new system. We appreciate your continued support and patience very much.

<Please return OVERDUE BOOKS>
We searched for unreturned books on our new system and were very surprised to find out that more than 1000 books have not been returned yet! Please return our library books as soon as possible if they are overdue.

<Changes in returning books>
Books will be accepted only at the counter for returning.
We would like to encourage our members to ask our library volunteers about your borrowing status on our new system when you are returning your books to make sure you do not have any overdue books.

<Book Return Counter>
We will set up a counter for returning books at the back of the library.
The front counter will be designated for borrowing books only.

<New Rules>
You can only borrow up to 5 books. If our new system shows you are borrowing 5 books, more books cannot be checked out.

<Check out priority>
Students have priorities over parents and other members for checking out books before/after school hours and during recesses. Please be mindful that you will be asked to wait at the back of the line if you forget your library card.

The Japanese Library houses 20,000 books. It is our wish to protect these books for many years to come, with the support from our members, as our precious treasures.
