Dear Japanese Language School Guardians,

With the emergence of the COVID-19 coronavirus, the Massachusetts Department

of Public Health has published information from the CDC regarding this sickness.

Mass Department of Health Information (content is from CDC) :

https://www.mass.gov/guides/information-on-the-outbreak-of-2019-novel-coronavirus-covid-19

Currently, the government assessment of transmission within Massachusetts is low
and recommends the main preventive steps to be like those for influenza :
·         Wash your hands often with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds.
·         Cover your coughs and sneezes.
·         Stay home if you are sick.

The Japanese Language School will soon be distributing hand sanitizers to all classes.
Please tell your children the importance of washing hands with soap or hand sanitizers
as a general public health precaution.

While the cases in Japan as of February 20, 2020 are around 100 for non-cruise ship infections, it is possible that secondary and/or tertiary infections may be on the rise.

Japan may be considered a higher travel risk in the future.

If you or someone in your family has traveled to Japan recently and returned, please

do be aware of your health and stay vigilant.  If it seems that you might be showing

some of the COVID-19 symptoms, first consult your doctor/hospital/Department

of Public Health over the phone as to what the appropriate next steps should be.

Thank you very much for your understanding and ongoing cooperation.

Sincerely,
Safety Department

Japanese Language School
