The 2nd Trimester Payment Period and Special Tuition Reimbursement_2021.06.29

posted Jun 29, 2021, 7:07 AM by Hiromi Takahashi
We truly appreciate your understanding and continued support to the Japanese Language School of Greater Boston. As reported via e-Boston last week, we are estimating to open in-person classes from 10/30 (Sat.). Since the school is expected to open in-person in the middle of the 2nd trimester, the special tuition reimbursement will be arranged to the students who are not able to participate for reasons. The below is the 2nd trimester payment period as well as the details of the special reimbursement.

The Second Trimester Payment Period: 7/23 (Fri.) – 8/14 (Sat.)
·  Late fees ($20/student) will be added for the payment after the due date
·  The payment reminder will be sent out via the e-Boston on 7/23 followed by the payment instruction e-mail

Special tuition reimbursement for a withdrawal/leave of absence request AFTER the second trimester began
If you meet both of the conditions below, tuition will be reimbursed. The amount will be prorated from the date in-person classes start on 10/30 (estimate).
1. Students will not participate in-person classes due to the health, safety or other reasons related to their inability to attend classes in-person.
2. Students submitted the withdrawal/leave of absence form on or before 10/9 (estimate) to the school office.

Please note that, if you meet the following criteria below, we will not be able to arrange the special reimbursement. The School Guideline 10-(4)-③-A., “In the event that a student is enrolled less than four weeks during a trimester, tuition for the trimester will be half the regular rate only if a request for reduced tuition is requested in writing beforehand” will apply in these circumstances.
3. The withdrawal/leave of absence form was submitted after 10/9 (estimate)
4. The reason for the withdrawal/leave of absence is not the criteria #1 above. (for example, relocation or other personal reasons)
